Description
Research project funded by BBSRC and FAPESP in collaboration with Profs. Patrick Chinnery e Michal Minczuk (University of Cambridge – United Kingdom). The researcher will engage in a multidisciplinary environment, undertaking activities in the areas of germ cell biology and mitochondrial genetics, having the opportunity to work in a dynamic and internationally recognized group. Activities include generation of genetically-modified mouse models, isolation and in vitro culture of mouse germ and embryonic cells, molecular cloning, confocal microscopy, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics.
Requirements
Mandatory requirements: Applicants must have obtained their PhD within the past seven years; demonstrate experience in at least one of the following areas: cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, embryology or bioinformatics; be capable of conducting experiments independently; possess strong laboratory organization skills; and be available to dedicate full-time effort to the project.
Desirable requirements:
-Experience with mice, including handling, breeding, sexing and genotyping;
-Experience with isolation and culture of mouse oocytes and embryos;
-Experience with isolation and culture of embryonic stem cells;
-Experience with immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy;
-Experience with molecular cloning and next-generation sequencing;
-Experience with micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos;
-Experience with cryopreservation and transfer of mouse embryos;
-Experience with transfection of mammalian cells;
-Experience with bioinformatics and statistics;
-Experience with transmission electron microscopy;
-Advanced English.
